Why should I give to HRCMF?

Harvard is a wonderful, busy, stressful place to live and learn for four years (or more). For many of us, HRCM served as a much-needed oasis of calm and fellowship amid the storms of our Harvard years.

Music, especially choral music, brings people together. The Collegium is exceptional thanks to the diversity of its members. Unlike many collegiate choirs, HRCM is not directly affiliated with the University's music department and thus isn't filled with only music majors. A soprano Chemistry-concentrating Collegiite can sing next to an English-concentrating bass; whatever their field of academic or professional interest, the Collegium offers a place for students to come together with all kinds of people to experience a shared love of Bach, Monteverdi, Brahms, or Palestrina.

HRCM and its sibling Holden Choirs are entirely financially independent from Harvard University. Harvard rakes in millions of dollars to its endowment every year, but none of those dollars is earmarked for choral music. HRCMF needs your financial support.

We hope you look back on your Collegium years with fondness. HRCM is a vital part of the Arts at Harvard, and with your help, we can ensure that future generations of Collegiites will have the same kind of musically and socially rewarding experiences that we all had in HRCM.

How can I give?

The Foundation is grateful for any gift, of any size, at any time. Our annual appeal is mailed in October, with a phonathon held in early November. Please consider supporting the Foundation with a tax-deductible gift. Every donation makes a difference to the work of the Collegium and to the students who make up its ranks. We are grateful for your generosity.

Leadership Donors

Join a committed group of HRCMF donors who have elected to become Leadership Donors. These alumni and friends give at least $250 to HRCMF annually. Giving levels for Leadership Donors range from the Patron level ($250 to $499) to the Conductor's Circle ($500 to $999) to the Maestro level ($1000 and above). Leadership Donors are acknowledged in HRCM programs and, as just one way of expressing our gratitude for their tremendous support, will receive a CD from one of the Collegium's recent concerts. If you are interested in becoming a Leadership Donor, please contact Elisabeth Winterkorn Lyczkowski.
